When did the Collector’s Cave open? And where are you located?

We opened March of 2016. We are located inside Bellevue Beer! Yes, we share space with a beer distributor but have our own entrance.

What’s the inspiration behind the Collectors Cave and how did the concept come about?

We were collectors first. The beer store had some empty rooms that would be perfect to sell the Funkos. We were able to get a Funko contract, which allowed us to order a wide range of Pop!s for all kinds of collectors.

We were able to use one of the rooms for the new Pop!s that were just released and called that room the Cave. Then the second room we used for the vaulted/exclusive/high end Pop!s and call that room the Cave of Wonders (like from Aladdin).

The rest is history!

Describe the Collectors Cave to someone who has never been.

A fun atmosphere for all collectors that has literally something for everyone, whether they are new to Funko or have been collecting for years. It’s the best hidden secret in Pittsburgh!

Who are your biggest fans/customers?

We have a great customer base and appreciate every single person that shops with us, whether in store or on WhatNot. We even have a private group for our highest loyalty card customers.

Do you exclusively sell Funko?

We also sell Pokémon cards.

What do you guys personally collect?

We do! Our main collections are Disney and Game of Thrones!

What got you hooked on Funko?

The vast range of fandoms that Funko appeals to, and they are constantly coming out with new molds and characters!

What a weekend!

Pop Price Guide made its Collect-A-Con debut Oct. 15-16 at the Colorado Convention Center with two days of Funko, trading cards and celebs, as well as Pokémon…so much Pokémon.

Our trek to No. 1 began 10 days ago, taking us on a journey through some of our most cherished Funko franchises, from Marvel and Disney to Star Wars and beyond. We kept it simple to determine the year’s top Pop!s, adding the amount of times an item appears in the OWN and WANT lists of our loyal Pop Price Guide users.

Bulbasaur is the most popular Pop! figure from 2019 and it’s not even close. The cuddly little Pokemon character appearance in 11,200 collections – 1,600 more than No. 2 Charmander – and is listed on 1,050 want lists. To sweeten the deal, Bulbasaur also comes in a 10-inch version that’s also quite popular (2,560 own/485 want).It should be noted that since this campaign begun, Michael Jordan (Slam Dunk) has witnessed a surge in ownership over the Christmas holiday. In fact, the Chicago Bull star vaulted from just outside the Top-10 to eclipsing Captain Marvel (Glow in the Dark) for No. 4 among the most popular Pop! vinyls of 2019.

Turns out, the code is simple. We tallied the amount of times an item appears in both users’ collections (OWN) and their wish lists (WANT) within the PPG database. The results are a swath of our favorite Pop!s from Marvel and Star Wars to Disney and more, including our No. 2 Pop! of the year, according to you, the fans and collectors…

Approaching 10,000 in collections, Charmander checks in as the second-most popular Pop! figure of 2019. He’s the second Pokemon character on the list, following Squirtle at No. 10.
