As you may have noticed, hobbyDB and PPG have been having some intermittent issues over the last few hours. As there is never a good time to do site maintenance, we started last night at 2am EST. Our mission was to change both our servers and development operating system (if you are technically minded from deploying on AWS to using Kubernetes on MS Azure).
The good news is that these changes should allow us to make the site faster once fully in place. It will also allow us to react more quickly to security issues, make it easier to onboard new developers to our small team and bring in specialized expertise by giving incremental access to our system.
The not so great news is that it’s taking us much longer than we thought to set up. It was meant to be done in 30 minutes. However, the entire team is currently working on it as we speak.
We’re hoping this is a once-in-an-every-five-years sort of upgrade that will ensure that our sites run smoothly over time. Our team has been hard at work since we started and will continue to work through until things are completely back to normal (and hopefully you will immediately start to see some speed and performance benefits).
Thank you so much for your patience and support and please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions. We’ll post another update as soon as everything is good to go!
All good! Was wondering if it was on my end!! Lololol! You all kick ass! So keep up the great work.
