We began with MR.splinter, our man in Israel, before introducing the Netherlands co-Ambassadors Orrin (read more on him here) and Maurice van der Nagel, aka Maupie010, the latter which we chat with today about his journey collecting Funko Pop!s.

A few years ago, I was introduced to Funko Pop!s through my son, who had taken an interest in them. The more I saw them, the more I started to like them, and in early 2018, I bought my very first Funko Pop! I quickly realized how much was out there, so I decided to start collecting more selectively. This led me to focus on Pennywise Pop!s, Conan O’Brien Pop!s, Freddy Funko’s, and for the past three years, I’ve become obsessed with prototypes—I now own around 40!

Wanting to be a true know-it-all in the world of Funko, I spent countless hours, days, and weeks researching and connecting with collectors worldwide. Along the way, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge and met amazing fellow collectors from all over the world, both online and in real life.

All the knowledge I’ve gathered, I now share with the global Funko community. In the Netherlands, and even in the U.S., I’m recognized as a dedicated Dutch Funko collector, and I love sharing what I know with others.

I mainly do this on Instagram (@funco010), in large Facebook groups in the Netherlands, Belgium, and the U.S., and through my own Funko Collectors Discord group, where Dutch and Belgian fans can find literally all the info they need. This year, together with some hardcore Dutch Funko Fanatics, we organized our first Dutch Funko Fans Day Out, and we’re already planning the next one for early 2025!

On these platforms, both beginners and advanced collectors can find all the information they need about Funko. My motto is simple: we all share the same passion, and we can’t thrive in this hobby without each other. We’re one big Funko family!

These days, I also help friends at conventions, bringing exclusive Pop!s to collectors in the Netherlands and Belgium so they can enjoy these amazing collectibles too. We put the “fun” in Funko!

If you ever have any questions or just want to chat about Funko, feel free to reach out! I love meeting new people who share the same passion for Funko Pop!s, and I can’t wait to connect with more like-minded collectors!

One of the fun new features we’ve recently unveiled is the ability to “vouch” for other PPG members with positive comments and reviews of their fellow collectors.

The best part, this is not a PPG/ hobbyDB Premium feature, so even members using the free version of PPG can spread the love, as well.

Vouching can be a handy tool (as well as a nice ego boost) for buyers and sellers looking for a little peace of mind before completing that purchase or trade for that certain collectible. Speaking of trading, check out our recent feature that allows you to swap collectibles with fellow collectors.

Here’s how it looks –

Your Vouched By page can be found on your Showcase and has a url link that can be shared via PPG and beyond on the web and in person. Links to Vouches can be shared everywhere! Even on social media!

Vouching for others is easy. Simply find the collector in the Pop Price Guide Member Directory, visit their Showcase and click Vouched By.

List values and other stats get recalculated once a day  –   plus you can recalculate the list value if, for example, you added a few new items list and would like to know its value right away.

Create Your Lists!

Here are two great examples –

• See the value of your Funko Pop!s vs. your FiGPiNs vs. your Hot Wheels
• See the value for specific segments of your Pop! collection, such as your Disney or Star Wars Pop!s

You’ll also be able to add items to more than one list!

Other List possibilities include –

So, for instance, your Hot Wheels and Matchbox can be found on your list of Ford models. Or your Youtooz Stormtrooper listed alongside your Lego Death Star via your Star Wars list. We already have a diverse Price Point system that incorporates values beyond eBay, from the likes of Mercari, WhatNot, and assorted Auction Houses, for example (find all of the now 80 different Prices Sources we support here). This allows us to provide a more complete estimated value. All of which is vetted by our Squad of humans, rather than bots.

So we’re geeked up to announce our latest upgrade to PPG’s price system, one that comes requested directly from our community of collectors.

In the middle of the year, Mercari changed the process by which it charges. Instead of charging the Seller a fee, it now has a 10% Buyer’s Fee. Many sellers have adjusted their pricing to take into account the fact that they do not pay fees. And those that did not adjust, make fewer sales because their items are now 10% more expensive to buy!

As of yesterday, all prices on PPG and hobbyDB have been adjusted for the Buyer’s Fee. See an example here –

The Price Point will explain the fact that we added the Buyer’s Fee and how much it is (we bet Mercari will increase it soon).

Look for the same treatment for Auction Houses that charge Buyer’s fees soon. And if you want to add Price Points from a specific Auction House contact us!
