We here at Pop Price Guide are celebrating this year’s “Back to the Future” Day by taking a page out of Doc Brown’s book and pointing our Delorean towards the future.
You might have heard us in the past use the phrase “Pop Price Guide, powered by hobbyDB.” But what does that mean, exactly?
Pop Price Guide is among the family of hobbyDB brands, which also includes The Toy Peddler and the Pop Culture Hall of Fame, to name a few.
To put it in “Back to the Future” terms, think of hobbyDB as the flux capacitor to Pop Price Guide’s Delorean. And now we’re revving the engine to 88 mph.
As we fast forward to the future, the PPG you know and love will remain the same. We’re just dropping in a new, supercharged flux capacitor.
You’ll experience a better, faster and more reliable Pop Price Guide and, the plan is that you won’t see that we’ve changed the proverbial plumbing.
What we’ve done already
We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes improving the PPG experience. We’ve already replaced the price guide engine and the presentation of past listings.
This feature will allow us to add more price sources to make the price guide even better.
That’s in addition to creating the PPG Marketplace, which is now home to more than 100,000 items for sale and is monitored by the keen eyes of our team of experts.
What we’re planning on doing
But we’re not done there.
Next up on our to-do list is to improve collection management, lists and other ways to display the collection you’ve worked so hard to amass.
Not only do we want to replicate the “Top 10” list feature of your collection, but we’d also like to build a generic list builder that allows you to configure your own custom lists. Think of lists such as your “Top 10 Chase Pieces,” your “Top 7 Marvel Villains” or “Top 5 Disney Princesses,” to name a few of the limitless options.
We will also be building the highly-anticipated Pop Price Guide App.
With the all-inclusive app, we’ll be able to provide extensive price info, a barcode scanner and much more — all centered around a complete Funko database.
We proudly do this with technology built and operated under the hobbyDB name.
How you can help
Like what you see? Here is your opportunity to become part of the Pop Price Guide experience by owning a piece of PPG and the hobbyDB family of brands.
Our crowdfunding campaign is looking for enthusiastic collectors who want to join us in revolutionizing the collector-verse.
Your generous support (and ownership) will help us accomplish our goals and then some, while offering you the perks afforded to shareholders.
As we move forward, the overall goal is to become the epicenter of the collectible world and when possible, pay dividends to our shareholders, based on your ownership percentage of the company. Also, there is always the opportunity of acquisition, where you would receive a portion of the payment of the sales price.
Investment opportunities begin at $220. Join us in building the ultimate home for collectors. Find more details by visiting our WeFunder Campaign.
These improvements are all well and good, but I’d like to actually be able to add items to my collection. For the past few months now I’ve had the refresh my page between adding items as the pop-up just says “Updating…” when I try and add one item after another. I have a few hundred items to add to get my collection current and at the rate I’m going now it’ll take hours.
had to* refresh
Thank you for letting us know about this. It is certainly something we can fix. We have your info and will let you know when we’re able to clear that up for you.
