About the PPG App

The App’s barcode scanning technology allows for a range of possibilities so you can maximize your time and collection.

Have a lot of items to add to your collection but are dreading having to look each one up in the guide? Simply scan the item’s UPC code to easily add it to your collection or to customize your lists, etc.

The App is also a great tool for performing in-store research with the ability to easily check estimated values, wish lists and more. All conveniently right there in your hand.

Physical Collection Management

Our new Collectible ID allows you to add your own personal barcode to any items that exclusively belong to you, regardless of whether it has a UPC or not.

Simply use our new Collectible ID to print out a label and attach it to your item.  Then just scan that label to pull up your item, for example, to make an edit.

Pop Price Guide and hobbyDB with its Showcase and now this feature is becoming more and more like a personal and free museum software – an ideal tool for collectors who are meticulous when it comes to documenting their cars, coins, corkscrews or whatever they collect.

Sellers will also find the Collectible ID useful as a means to easily manage listings and more.

More to Come!

But we’re not done there. We’re always looking to improve and upgrade the App.

The App now offers the capability of selling entire collections, lots and lists. Follow the link to read more about our Collection Selling feature.

Some of the features we’re hoping to add in the near future include –

  • Image Matching Software to make finding that specific item via the App even easier. All you’ll have to do is photograph an item and the App will match it to the hobbyDB and Pop Price Guide databases.
  • An innovative new technology for both online and brick-and-mortar stores that will allow you to read about the item and checkout via the App, plus lots more.
  • The ability to scan Storage Locations like bins to add an item to the Storage Location or do an inventory

So stay tuned! There’s more to come!

  1. Have you thought of implementing scripting that can crawl ebay/whatnot etc… to get up to date pricing for items? I imagine it wouldn’t be too terribly difficult and would be a huge plus to collectors. I have heard “PPG is accurate, until it isn’t” more than once.
