Funko continues with its 2019 SDCC Reveals as we draw closer to this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con and the company’s Funko Freaky Tiki Fundays.
Today’s announcements begin with several classic Funko lines, including Pop! Comics and Icons — both Ad and Cultural.
Funko isn’t waiting for July 18-21 to get in on the SDCC fun. All this week the company is announcing this year’s haul of summer convention vinyl figures, as well as where to find their shared exclusives, i.e. Target, Hot Topic and Walmart, for example.
Shared exclusives go on sale during Day Two of the convention. Check back throughout the day for updates!
Pop! Disney, Games, TV & Batman Reveals
Pop! Ad Icons
Is there anything more summer than Otter Pops and the San Diego Comic-Con? Yeah, probably, but the duo still makes for the perfect pair as part of Funko’s 2019 SDCC Pop! Ad Icons reveals. Unfortunately, Louie-Bloo Raspberry is one of the rare vinyl figures that will be limited to the San Diego Comic-Con. So…good luck. Joining Louie-Bloo is Peter Pez (Toy Tokyo), as well as former rival cereal mascots Quisp & Quake (Funko Shop), who have finally settled their differences in the form of a VYNL. 2-Pack.
Pop! Animation: Disenchantment
Funko dips back into the realm of Matt Groening’s “Disenchantment” providing Bean with her second, much crustier, Pop! Animation vinyl figure. Look for the princess as a Barnes & Noble exclusive.
Pop! Comics & Icons
Sabrina the Teenage Witch brings her cauldron with her to San Diego (and Hot Topic) as part of Funko’s Pop! Comics collection — while Hellboy and Abe Sapien receive the 5 Star treatment via GameStop. But the biggest announcement comes in the form of Rat Fink’s debut as a Pop! Icon figure. The crusty hot-rod rat created by artist Ed “Big Daddy” Roth has a slew of Wacky Wobblers and Wacky Wobbler Banks, but was never immortalized in Pop! form. That is until now. Look for them at SDCC, as well as a Toy Tokyo exclusive.
Pop! Animation: The Simpsons
As we learned earlier, the mind of Matt Groening is an expansive place. Funko takes us to outer space, via Springfield, with a Kang and Kodos Glow-in-the-Dark 2-Pack that doubles as a GameStop exclusive.
